When the ancient philosopher Aristotle said “the whole is greater than the sum of the parts”, he had no idea we would be celebrating this through Reiki Shares. Whenever a group comes together to share Reiki, a morphic field of powerful energy is enabled. When our hearts join to connect with and stream the field of Reiki energies, we create a field of possibility so limitless it is impossible for the logical mind to grasp. In my 25 plus years of practice, I’ve coordinated more than 100 Reiki Shares.
When energy workers together to strengthen each other, you heal, grow in confidence and reinforce the active presence of Reiki in your life. Reiki Shares ensure that active teachers and Reiki activist also receive the healing, nurturing and release that you need – especially with the fear based energies surrounding us in 2020.
Believe that we are limitless and there is no space, time or distance. Flowing from this fifth dimensional law, we can create powerful Reiki Shares while we are limited in our ability to meet together.
How to organize a virtual Reiki Share:
- What is your vision of how a virtual Reiki Share looks and feels to you. How large? How often? Who? The more specific you are, the more your Guides can help lead people to the group. Start small with a group of other Reiki practitioners – being sure that they are all attuned to at least First Degree. If you do not have a group, check local Reiki resources and move to action by making your interest of organizing a Share known.
- Decide which online platform you will use, as this will help determine how your group looks and connects. Make it simple as not all people may be as tech savvy as you are. I suggest not recording the Reiki Share for confidentiality reasons.
- Commit to a regular date, time and location at least once per month. We are creatures of habit, and people will more consistently attend if set up this way.
- Start small and stay with a number with which you are comfortable. Often a Reiki Share that starts with 2 or 3 people and rapidly expands.
- Is there a fee? The spirit of a Reiki Share is for it to be a time for people to give and receive. I ask for a small donation (etransfer to me) to fundraise for charity. Fees are sent ahead of the meeting so that people are committed to attending. Once the fee is paid, then I send them their invitation.
- Send the invite for your virtual meet up the day before the Share. Collect contact list of those who have been attending and let them know of upcoming Shares.
Format for the Virtual Share:
If you are unfamiliar with the online platform you are using to host your share, practice ahead. Even though this will be a group effort, own your role as a moderator. Know how to mute/unmute and keep people muted who are not speaking. You also want to use and show the participants how to use a gallery view so that everyone is on screen at the same time. You are also a time-keeper and stick to it, or some people will miss out. Be sure you have a turn to receive – you can make someone a co-host so they can be the timekeeper and you can fully receive.
Process of the Virtual Reiki Share:
- Opening with a prayer that focuses on the intention of your Share. Right now, a good intention is for each participant to be fear free and strong during this pandemic.
- After the opening prayer, each person in turn will receive from the group. Depending on the size of the group, each person will receive for 10-15 minutes. Tell the recipient to be comfortable, eyes closed and tell their self that they are open to receive. The other participants will send to that person for the determined time. You are the time keeper, so give them a minutes notice before the sending is complete.
- At the end of the meetup, you will need to close the group. An idea is to have each person notice their breath, feet flat on floor while you read an inspirational poem or article to them. Thank them for participating, letting them know when the next meetup is and reminding them of confidentiality.
